Essaouira, a historic walled fishing village attracts kiters from all over the world due to its reliable wind conditions. At this time of the year, the ocean has some chops and small waves, the air temperature is between 18-33 C / 65-90 F and the water temperature is 20-23 C / 69-72 F. The wind speed is between 15-25 knots and the wind direction is onshore / side-onshore. Recommended kite sizes : 9-11m, board type : twintip, wetsuit : shorty. Please note, if you don't have kitesurfing gear, you can also rent the equipment on the spot!
With wide open beaches and camels watching you gear up, Essaouira in Morocco is a fabulously unique kite spot. With easy international connections via Marrakesh or Casablanca, Morocco offers steady wind and an exotic Arabian feel. 2 Sep : We will meet your flight and bring you to the villa. Get settled in, then group dinner in old-town Essaouira. Maybe time for a quick kite if you arrive early enough 3 Sep : Coffee & wifi, explore the town, first full days kiting. 4 Sep : Kiting. Sunset camel ride. 5 Sep : Downwind kite session, 4WD transfers 6 Sep : Optional day trip into the desert behind Essaouira 7 Sep : Optional downwinder, otherwise a full days kiting at the local beach 8 Sep : An early kite or a chilled morning, then we will take you back to the airport for your flight

What do I need to bring?
You will need the usual travel attire for a warm country - clothes, swimming gear, sun protection and the like. We provide linen and bath towels. If you have your own kiteboarding gear then by all means bring it with you. If you don’t have any gear, or don’t want to travel with your gear, then you are able to rent a full-set or part-set of quality equipment on location.
Note that kiteboarding equipment is considered oversized luggage by most airlines.
What is the accommodation like? We strive to provide high-quality accommodation near the beach. This will typically be a riad in Morocco with shared lounge, kitchen and bathroom areas. Free wifi is provided at all accommodation venues. We can provide pre-paid SIM cards for each country if you would like that option.
What is the food like?
Most trips have three meals a day provided - details are on each trip page. The provided meals are a mix of professionally prepared meals enjoyed at the accommodation, and meals at local restaurants.
As a rule of thumb, vegetarian meals are easy to access in each location. Please advise us of any specific dietary requirements at the time of booking, so we can take arrange meals for you.
Do I need kiteboarding experience? No. All of our trips have sufficient beach and ocean space for both beginners and experienced kiters. If you haven’t kiteboarded before, we can offer optional lessons with experienced instructors.
Do I need travel insurance? Full travel insurance is highly recommended. Kitesurfari accepts no responsibility for any loss, theft or damage to persons or property during their trip.
