Porto Pino is one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia, with white sand beaches and turquoise waters. The wind is best when it blows from the NW (Mistral) or SW. The conditions are calm with small waves or chop though after 2-3 days of strong winds glassy waves can build to 1-1.5m perfect for your surf board. Is Solinas is the perfect spot for freestyle riders with flat, shallow for 80-120m offshore with no waves or sea current. Lessons are held in Porto Pino from June-September and in Is Solinas in April, May and October. Both spots are great for beginners, we always teach in deep water for our students safety. The wind most commonly blows from the North bringing 15-25 knots from around 11am until late afternoon. A 3/2mm wetsuit is recommended in early/later summer and a 2mm or just board shorts in mid summer.

The Destination

With amazing wind, delicious food and some of the best wine in the world, Sardinia is one of the best destinations for a kite holiday. Indulge in Italy's world famous pizza, pasta, fresh fish and a cold gelato after a long day in the sun. Sardinia offers more for the adventurer than just kiteboarding, spend some time exploring the island- go cliff jumping, hiking, mountain biking, go to the cable park or rent a car and take a drive around the beautiful island.

The Experience

Whether you’re looking for non-stop action or a relaxing beach holiday, Sardina has something for you! We offer two accommodation in Solinas & Sant Antioco. Solinas & Porto Pino are located in the countryside, with amazing places for hiking and mountain biking. This is the perfect place to relax and immerse yourself in nature after a long day on the water. Sant Antioco is a lively town with a large variety of restaurants with musical and cultural events. Spend the evenings dining at local Italian restaurants and exploring Sardina with other like-minded travellers. The camp is suited to solo travellers, couples or groups.

The Camp

The beginner camp is perfect for those with no prior kite experience or someone who has have their first lessons but have not body dragged yet. You will start your lessons flying a trainer kite to learn the basics, you will quickly move on to a full size kite to learn launching/landing, upwind and downwind body dragging, body dragging with the board, board recovery and finally your first water starts. Lessons will always take place in deep water for safety and walkie-talkies so our instructors can give directions from a distance. Lessons will be held in Is Solinas in April, May and October and in Porto Pino from June-September.

The intermediate camp is ideal for those who already had lessons but are not yet on the board, transitioning or upwinding constantly.

We also offer an advanced, hydrofoil and independent kite camp. Couples can book in the same room while participating in different camps, please inquire for details.

No Wind Activities

In case there is not enough wind to kitesurf, we provide other activities free of charge in exchange with a day of rentals:

  • Stand Up Paddle excursions - on Sant Antioco island
  • Visit to the archaeological site and museum of Sant Antioco
  • Visit to San Pietro island and the town of Carloforte. This can be combined with a SUP excursion

Additional activities include hiking, mountain biking and sightseeing.

Two accommodation locations are offered: Sant Antioco is the best option for someone looking for a lively holiday. There is a variety of restaurants and bars to try and often musical and cultural events to enjoy in the evenings. The accommodation is a beachfront hotel with double rooms with a private bathroom. There are also rooms available for up to 4 people. The kite spots Is Solinas or Porto Pino are 20-30 mins drive. The alternative accommodations are a set of 5 cottages in the countryside located in Is Solinas and Porto Pino housing up to 10 people.
