Rescue service

During the season we enjoy a steady onshore wind which is supposed to be the most consistent on earth. It's perfect for riding long distances along our beautiful coastline. Mostly sandy and free of long rocky cliffs the area between Cumbuco and Atins makes for some fun and rather safe open water kiting conditions. The water is warm, so you can leave your wetsuit at home and enjoy the waves wearing only boardshorts and a lycra to protect you from the sun as we'll be out all day. It's a transformative experience when you feel like one with the ocean after a long day out and need to adjust to being back on steady ground. While out kiting you can focus entirely on your ride as we take care of everything else. For your safety the group will always be accompanied by two guides and a professional rider who will assist you if you like. It's a unique opportunity to boost your technique and confidence all while experiencing Brazil's nature at its best. Also, a 4x4 is going to follow the group along the coastline to provide us with drinks and healthy snacks and give those a lift who might feel like they need a break.

The Destination

We specialise in unique downwind experiences which put you in touch with the beautiful raw nature of the Northeast of Brazil and at the same time allow you to get a taste of what the locals and their culture are like. These trips ain't just about kiting, they're about having a once in a lifetime experience in Brazil.

The Experience

Join us for up to 7 days of awesome kiting, magnificent nature and authentic local experiences. If you want to get to know Brazil from the waterside we have just the right trip for you. Our downwinders vary in routes, length and required experience levels, so we're more than happy to assist you in choosing the right one for your dream vacation.

What they all have in common is a mix of full on kiteboarding, warm turquoise water, great food, cultural immersion and a truly relaxed travel experience.

The wind is in our favor, so you won't need any kites bigger than 11m² - usually a 9 for the guys and a 7 for the ladies will be perfectly fine. Also, a downwinder is the most comfortable if you can enjoy it on a directional with straps as they save heaps of energy. Bring your own ride or rent one of ours. Of course it can also be done on a twintip or you can swap boards in between stops.

We currently offer three different downwinder packages on bstoked:

The Delta Poldros Experience - Intermediate level

The Delta Poldros Experience is a 7 day trip which is suitable for intermediate riders. The 270km long adventure leads us all the way up from Camocim to Atins. This area is known for the Delta of Pernaiba, a true Brazilian treasure and a must see for the avid wilderness seeker. For those especially interested in exploring our beautiful nature there is also the option to arrange a visit at the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. This needs to be organized in advance so make sure to let us know if you are keen. The park is famous for its dunes which feature a number of lagoons like the Lagoa do Peixe and the Lagoa Bonita.

The Classic Path - Intermediate level

This route aims to show you Brazil's coastal life in all its facets and will make you want to come back again and again. It's a 6 day trip which is suitable for intermediate riders. Covering 260km you will experience gorgeous waves, beautiful secluded fishermen villages and authentic Brazilian food.

The tour leads us from Cumbucu to Preá, exploring the coast of Ceará with its turquoise waters and sandy beaches. Our final stop is the beautiful Rancho do Peixe, a serene beachside hotel with all the amenities one could wish for. From here it's just a a short drive to Jericoacoara or "Jeri" as most of you might have heard of it. It has a special "edge-of-the-world" feel to it, so make sure to factor in some extra time at the end of your trip for a visit.

The Delta Path - Difficult level

Once you've done the Delta Experience you'll want to come back for more - or start with this 7 day trip right away if you are an experienced rider who can handle a more demanding and difficult route.

The 370km from Preá to Atins will have you kiting through three different Brazilian states: Ceara, Piaui and Maranhao. Three different states also mean an array of different landscapes for you to explore including the World Heritage Site of Serra de Capivara. We'll see nature ranging from the dry northeast regions to the green and wet amazon forest.

Last but not least - as in the Delta Experience - we'll also cross the Delta of Pernaiba, a true Brazilian treasure and a must see for every avid wilderness seeker.

Our journey concludes at the gorgeous Oceano Inn in Atins.

The afternoon is dedicated to a warm-up session where you can get a feel for the equipment and the kiting conditions. The day ends with an amazing dinner at the Rancho do Peixe where we will stay for the night.

Day 2 - Camocin to Barra Grande

The day begins with breakfast at 8 am which will be followed with the daily briefing at 9 am. We'll talk you through the details of the route, the meeting points & our stops, special sights, risks and things to keep in mind during the trip. This will be part of our daily routine and take place every morning. Then it's time to transfer from Preá to Camocin where our adventure begins. Time to look forward to an amazing kite session from Camocin down to Barra Grande.

Day 3 - Barra Grande to Ilha dos Poldros

This day takes you from Barra Grande to the Ilha dos Poldros. In order to get there we'll cross the marvelous Delta do Panaiba. Be prepared for nature at its best and - as we think - one of the most beautiful places in Brazil. Dinner will be set at the Ilha dos Poldros Hotel. This remote place will give you a good idea what it can be like to be immersed in nature with abundant wildlife surrounding us and rivers snaking through the dunes.

Day 4 - Ilha dos Poldros

Ilha dos Poldros is the perfect place to rejuvenate, chill and explore. There is lots to see and enjoy while taking in nature.

Day 5 - Ilha dos Poldros to Tutóia

A very special day - after the morning briefing we will cross amazing dunes, secluded rivers and waves on our way to charming Tutóia beach. It'll be just you and your kite when we follow the river till it meets the sea. At Tutóia beach kiters and support cars will meet up again for dinner and a night at the Jagata pousada. Look forward to an amazing night sky and a truly local experience as the pousada is a rather simple lodging that allows you to get a taste of the unique brazilian lifestyle we enjoy.

Day 6 - Tutóia to Atins

The final leg of our trip leads us all the way up to the Oceano Atins Inn. You probably won't want to leave again once you've seen and experienced this unique boutique place. It sits in a very tranquil setting within beautiful nature on the edge of the Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses. You'll instantly fall in love with its remoteness and another stunning night sky by the beach. Most guests can't resist to stay a bit longer, so maybe factor in an extra night in your itinerary right away. The day ends with a lovely dinner at the Inn.

Day 7 - Departure day

After a final breakfast our trip comes to an end with a 12 am check-out and departure.

After a good days kiting we'll end the day at the pousada Vila Vagalume in Guajiru.

Day 3 - Guajiru to Icaraizinho

A truly spectacular day passing through Flexeiras, Mundaú and Baleia. With plenty of stunning beaches, red rocks and palm trees throughout the ride you simply can't not enjoy this day. Usually the group is followed by a 4x4 for the whole session, but depending on the tide conditions this might not always be possible as some estuaries won't be accessible by car. Our day concludes at the marvelous Villa Mango Beach Bungalow in Icaraizinho.

Day 4 - Icaraizinho to Arpoeiras

Todays motto is seclusion. Only you and your kite can pass as the rivers meet the sea on our way to Arpoeiras, a place so small and remote that you won't even find it on google maps. This sure makes for a special experience and will put you in touch with the simple life of the people that live here when we spend the night at the pousada Canoas.

Day 5 - Arpoeiras to Preá

Get ready for an epic ride from Arpoeiras to Preá beach. There we will be met by the Rancho do Peixe team that will make sure that your last evening of the trip will be one to remember. The Rancho do Peixe is a very special, award winning beachside hotel which especially caters to kiters. Also it's only a 12km drive away from Jericoacoara, a legendary "edge-of-the-world" kind of place that is well worth a visit. So maybe factor in some extra time and a night or two at the end of your trip.
