Kim is an incredible host. It is a very good kite spot. Could be a romantic spot too :-)

Great spot, lovely local team and very accommodating host! Thank you, Kim! It’s all in the description but Secret is really quite remote: no WIFI, no phone coverage (it ends an hour boat-ride before arriving), no night life except for karaoke in the village across the bay :)) So, come prepared to really properly disconnect and chill. Blissful 9 days in Secret!

The location is good however you have to be careful of the sand rising above the water during low tide. The kites they have are between 7 to 12 m, and when there is not much wind, a person which has the same weight (89kg) as me is unable to kyte. As an advice I would suggest having some 14/15 m kites available as well. According to what the people working there say, they have never experienced low wind situations, however looking at the forecast the wind hardly gets up to 20 knots. The tents, made of bamboo, do not have any electric plugs in them even though light is available. How is this possible? If someone wants to charge their phone or any other electronic device they have to use the only two plugs located in the common area and when there are 20 people on such a small island, this really takes quite a while. I would really suggest taking a few external power banks. Another factor which I would really look into is that in the bamboo tent there is a small vent, which when there is no wind, makes it impossible to sleep during the night as there is hardly any air coming from it. To make it even worse, and not allowing you to sleep, the mattresses and the pillow play an important role too. They are of very poor quality resulting in you waking up with back and neck ache every morning. I am aware that this is a remote island, however granting the customer a bit of comfort seeing the price of the stay is definitely a must. Unfortunately the first two nights I woke up with cockroaches walking on my arms and the mattress. I had to ask several times to the people working there to spray the insect repellent which was only done on the third night. During my four day stay my bed sheet nor the towels were ever changed, unhygienic and unacceptable. The toilets, 2 for about 20 people, around 9PM started to be really filthy with urine everywhere, especially around the routes bowl, not an ideal thing since you mostly wall bare feet around the island. Don’t expect to eat anything like fresh seafood during your stay, as the meals were prevalently chicken and chicken, whether fried or grilled with rice. Another unusual thing since you are on an island surrounded by water. Breakfast is served around 9am, very strange as the wake up time is usually around 6 am. The sink where you brush your teeth is only on for all the guests on the island, and where only salt water comes out. The same is applicable to the shower, only salt water. If you think you are in paradise, on a deserted island to rest and relax where the only sound you can hear is the wind and the waves, well you got it all wrong. In fact the afternoon siesta, in the common area, is always disturbed by someone talking really loud. It did happen to me that I woke up in the middle of the night at around 2.30 am because of people still talking, drinking and playing loud music in the common area. The worst money ever spent on a holiday.

Perfect kite spot with massive sand bank, crystal clear water (you can see many starfish and some turtles whilst kiting!) and loads of space. The camp is a great ‘back to basic’ experience, which was great, but you pay for the spot - I think it’s somewhat overpriced for the facilities provided. Staff was super helpful arranging the trip though!

Beautiful camp, offers everything you could need for the ultimate kitesurfing holiday. In case of no wind, there is little to do so bring a good book. But I was very fortunate with the wind and had an amazing time! There our also massages on offer from a local girl from the island opposite, a great touch. Honesty bar with ample snacks and cheap drinks! I made the mistake of bringing my own booze from Coron as thought bar would be minimal! Don’t bother, drinks were cheaper at the kite camp and they have everything you’d need! Super friendly staff and other guests. Perfect location for a chilled holidays. Boat ride to get there can be an adventure 😉.

The spot is perfect for all kind of kiters. The Danish team are absolutely helpful and kinds. I have just one things to remark:, the island is 2 hrs by boat from the mainland and when the sea is high the journey is hard for sensitive peoples
