The Destination

La Guajira a coastal Caribbean desert at the northernmost point of South America that belongs to Colombia's indigenous Wuayú people. Although they never allowed themselves to be conquered by the Spanish, with our open arms we welcome kitesurfers who like to stay away from the common paths. Authentic and mystical, far removed from the everyday hustle and bustle, and known for its magical night sky full of stars, the region of La Guajira is also blown by strong constant winds (20-30 knots), with many bays of the Caribbean Sea and its butter flat water creates exceptional conditions for kitesurfing. The absence of crowds and the flamingos that adorn the bays are just the cherry on the cake.

The Experience

We'll take you across the desert of Colombia to three different kite spots across La Guajira region where the desert and Caribbean meet. During the kite trip we will have short downwinders (optional) to kite with flamingos and the beautiful landscape.

Downwinders are optional, the alternative is always to kite directly on the spot or enjoy the beach in the warm Colombian sun with a drink in hand. Pleasantly tired from the whole day's kite adventures, we will spend the evenings under the starry sky with a bonfire and take part in cultural evenings where we will get to know the culture of the Wuayúu people better.

What is Unique About Us?

Our aim is about creating an experience supporting local communities as we chase the wind. Because La Guajira region is so remote the Wayùu (local indigenous community) is far from medical assistance, fresh water and electricity. We have partnered with local organizations to provide fresh water tanks, school supplies and medical assistance for every kite trip that we do. As you join the upcoming kite trips you will be impacting these local communities.

Are you interested in joining the trip but feel like you need to take lessons for the first time or even just refresher lessons? We offer lessons throughout the trip for all levels. Just let us know!

Accommodation

La Guajira is a beautiful place away from the daily urban bustle. In all three locations, we will be accommodated directly on the coast of this Caribbean desert, in simple accommodations where each double room has its own private bathroom. The accommodations use solar energy, which means that there are no air conditioners but that will not bother us since at night it gets quite cold. While our cell phone may run out of battery, carefree days full of kiting and evenings by the fire under the starry sky will surely recharge ours. All three accommodations will serve us with full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and we can accommodate for any special dietary request if needed. We promise unforgettable memories will be created in this trip.
