The weather and water temperature are always warm, so you can leave your wetsuit at home! The windy season begins in June and stays until February and blows consistently through this entire period. The wind is the strongest August-December. Brazil offers both flat water lagoons as well as small waves and chop. During downwinders you will experience the waves. We will be stopping at different kite spots along the way where you will get to experience the world famous flat water lagoons and rivers to practice your freestyle tricks with the pros! The wind always blows from the same direction: SE-ESE and blows around 20-30 knots depending on the spot. Kite size will depend on your body weight and ability level- we generally recommend smaller kite sizes. Brazil is incredible for both twin tip riding as well as surf/directional boards. I love to use my surfboard during the downwinders and just into the lagoons with my twintip for a freestyle session! The wind blows everyday, and if it doesn’t we can move to the next spot!

The Destination

Brazil has recently become one of the top kiting destinations in the world and we will show you why! Brazil offers warm weather, warm water and beautiful beaches. With flat water lagoons, river mouths, kilometers of beach with nobody kiting and strong winds everyday, you couldn’t pick a better kite holiday destination. Along the way you will experience the real Brazil. We will travel through small fishing villages meeting the local people. The locals are very friendly and will offer unique and delicious fish dishes. Explore the sand dunes by renting a dune buggy and ride the dunes on a sand board. Brazil has a very laid back atmosphere and tranquillity for those who want to relax and enjoy the sunshine. After a long day on the water sit back, slow down and enjoy the Brazilian pace of life. There is a nightlife in larger Brazilian towns including Jericoacoara and Cumbuco.

During the trip we will eat as healthy as possible. Brazil offers amazing fresh fresh fruits and dishes pack full of energy. After long days on the water we will relax and rejuvenate among the nature. There is no better way of doing that than watching the colours of the Brazilian sunset.

Kiting Level

This trip is not 100% downwinders. We will spend lots of time at different spots with different conditions including flat water, waves and chop.

If you are not an advanced rider you are welcome on the trip and we guarantee that you will have the time of your life. You will learn from the more advanced riders and can take as many kite lessons as you like on the way!

This trip is for intermediate and advanced riders.

Equipment

Wind blows very strong on this part of the world, so we recommend you to bring smaller size kites. You should have 9 (men) and 7 (ladies). If you have an 2 kite sizes definitely bring them with you, so you will be able to kite at any time!

If you have a twin tip board and a surfboard, bring both of them as you will have lots of opportunities to use them both.

Don’t forget your screws, and repair kits just in case something happens! A big board bag that can fit all your stuff will help a lot.

What to Pack

Lycra and sun screen are a must. We will spend lots of time under the Brazilian sun! If you have water sunglasses and a cap it may be of help also. Don’t bring lots of clothing, you will not use it! Just the basics.

The Team

The IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) certificated Instructors will take you around the vast and unknown beaches of Brazil.

Wind nature and salt water are almost as important as the air we breath. Since we started kiting our lives changed. Now its all about the sport we love and sharing it with the kiting community.

Accommodation

We will be sleeping in comfortable pousadas along the way. Pousadas are built for kiters and share the same friendly spirit that will not disappoint in any way. Rooms have their own private bathroom and continental breakfast its always included. Every accommodation will be walking distance from the kiting spot. - Barra Grande Beach Club, Pousada Very nice and comfy pousada. Just walking distance form the spot, excellent breakfast and very comfy rooms! - Pura Vida Club Located right on the lagoon! There is a leisure complex that includes: 15 rooms (all with sea view) - Swimming pool - Restaurant - French Creperie - Wet Bar. The only place that offers a free rescue boat service to our guests. There is a beautiful lawn, where our guests can relax on lounge chairs and have a safe place to dry their kites. - Pousada Ibirapuera This pousada has a beautiful view to the dunes and to the swimming pool. This place offers a cozy ambience with an integrated garden, bar service and of course a delicious breakfast. - Pais Tropical Located on a 3000 Sq m property located 50 m away from the beach and 300m from the Kite Center. It offers accommodation in independent bungalows allowing 1 to 5 guests. It has a free internet access for its guests and a large swimming pool to relax after a hard day kitesurfing, or to enjoy a caipirinha. 😉 - Village Dos Lencois The inn has several shops and room service. La Village Dos Lençois also offers provides a kite surfing rental service. This inn features water sports facilities and a car rental service. In the area you can enjoy various activities, such as windsurfing and hiking.
