Our kite spot is ideal for both beginners and advanced riders. We have two main windy seasons here in Kenya; the Kuzi and Kaskazi. The Kuzi season runs from June through till end of September blowing from the SE, averaging 15/25knots a day, blowing consistently all day. The Kaskazi season runs from mid December through til mid April, with the wind coming up after lunch, blowing from the NE averaging 15/20knots. The kite spot is located in a secluded bay, with no other kite schools in the area. The bay is suited for all riding styles and levels. During low tide, we have ample beach space, perfectly flat conditions, shallow water in some areas and some sandbars to play around. High tide brings choppier conditions and during the Kuzi season waves for wave riding. Our kite school is fully equipped for teaching, offers beach assistance and rescue. We recommend that men bring 9-12m kites and women 7-12m and as we are located in the Indian Ocean, we have perfect water temperature all year round so no wetsuit is needed. Of course we recommend that our kiters use sun protect and rash vests. We don't have coral or urchins to worry about either.

The Experience

You can be as active or as chilled as you wish to be. From kitesurfing, big game fishing, dhow sailing, kayaking, and more. Our hotel is ideal for both the solo traveller, groups of friends and families. With our kite spot literally on the doorstep you can maximise your time on the water and enjoy early morning and late afternoon sessions. Experience a one of a kind beach which is vast and uncrowded, immerse yourself in nature and leave us feeling rejuvenated.

You might never want to leave the beach but if do we are situated only 25km north of the coastal town of Malindi, where one can explore the old town for a cultural experience, go snorkelling in the marine park or dine on local cuisine or some of the best pizza you can find outside of Italy.

Getting There

The easiest way to get to our hotel and kite centre is for clients to fly into Malindi airport and from there it is an easy taxi ride taking only 30 minutes. If one wishes to fly into Mombasa airport the drive to our hotel will take about 3 hours. Taxi's can be organised for an extra charge. Visa's will be needed to enter Kenya and can either be bought online in advance or at the airport for $50.

Excursions

We can organise lots of different excursions for our clients, including safaris, deep sea fishing and dhow trips. From December to April our dhow, Sawa Sawa, is located at the hotel and guests can go on a full day cruise, with snorkelling followed by a seafood bbq cooked on-board. You will anchor at a beach with perfect flat water for an afternoon kite session and if kiters wish they can then downwinder back to the hotel. During our July to September season our dhow is moored in Malindi where clients get to visit the gorgeous sandbars of Mayungu.

Safaris

Kenya is best known for being a safari destination - go from beach to bush in under 2hrs. Experience the Big 5, this is a must-do activity while visiting Kenya.

Accommodation
