Because of the trade winds, the kitesurfing conditions are great in Cabarete almost the whole year. Between January-March and June-August are the most consistent months for wind. The conditions at kite beach are mostly choppy with small-medium waves forming out at the reef. Encuentro offers amazing waves which are the largest over the winter months. About 7km east of Kite Beach is La Boca- a river mouth offering butter flat water. A three kite quiver is recommended as the wind ranges between 15-25 knots. The air and water temperatures remain warm through the year. A bikini/boardshorts are suitable over the summer and a thin wetsuit/lycra are recommended over the winter.
Cabarete has become known as the adventure capital of the Caribbean and for good reason! There are so many outdoor activities to enjoy including world class kiteboarding and beautiful surfing.
Choose between hourly private lessons, semi-private lessons or really hone your skills with 6-12 hour lesson packages.
