Summary
Thanks to the flexibility of being on a catamaran, the kite cruise ventures to wherever the wind is the most ideal for kitesurfers. The prevailing winds are scirocco, mistral, and various thermal winds. They blow consistently from May to September and are usually between 15 to 35 knots. ATTENTION To guarantee the best price and guarantee availability we need to arrange everything in advance 2-3 months in advance at least We kindly ask if you are sure of the dates to book in advance Thanks to the cooperation. The only month that it is not possible to organize a kite cruise is August due to the little wind and too many people Our recommended kite sizes are 5m, 7-9m, 10-12m, or 14m. An 8m and 11m kite should cover most conditions. We recommend a 3/4mm wetsuit and rental equipment is available if requested in advance. Most spots are flatwater, so a twin-tip board is recommended. The kite will be launched from the catamaran and all launchings will follow a safe procedure.
The Destination
The Experience
Those who work at Sardinia Kite School and Cruise are passionate about all things kiteboarding and know the region well. Onboard our kite cruise, you'll be able to chase the best wind and venture to new spots nearly every day. Since this kite cruise caters only to small groups, every trip is personalized to fit the attendees.
First, you'll meet at Cala Dei Sardi or Olbia and transfer your gear onto the catamaran -- your new home. The itinerary will depend on the wind, but likely will cruise to the Gulf of Olbia where you can kitesurf near the main school and relax before the yacht sets sail.
The cruise might explore sites like Tavolara, a small island with limestone cliffs. Here, you can kitesurf around the jagged island, take a tour, go kayaking, and more. Then, over the next few days, the kite cruise will sail to the Maddalena Archipelago and kitesurfers can ride the famous spot of Porto Pollo. Towards the end of the trip, the kite cruise will return to Cala dei Sardi and stop at the great spots of Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo along the way. Of course, if the wind is better around Molara, San Teodoro, or Santa Teresa di Gallura, the kite cruise can always adapt to suit a new itinerary.
