Le Morne is a very open spot for different level of riders : from beginners to confirmed riders... You can always get the best of it as it offers on the same spots variety of conditions. The kite lagoon is flat / choppy (depending of the tide) so it is easy to begin and to progress with kiteboarding. Confirmed freestyle riders will also be able to send their best moves and jumps. South east wind (side on shore) is predominant and makes wind more stable and strong. East wind is also often common (more on shore) in kite lagoon but more gusty cause of the wind shadow. Kitesurfers will also be delighted to ride their surf boards strapless for some freestyle sessions but will also enjoy the different level of waves of Le Morne : Anchor, Manawa, little reef, Chameau, Platin Rouge and last but not least... ONE EYE, the mytical wave of the spot.

La Gaulette is not popular for the beach but you can spend a day on Ile aux Benitiers which can be accessible by Pirogue. Swimming during summer is just amazing! White sand and clear water! Winters are more chill but it depends of your temperature standards... A bit or history

Le Morne Cultural Landscape, a rugged mountain that juts into the Indian Ocean in the southwest of Mauritius was used as a shelter by runaway slaves, maroons, through the 18th and early years of the 19th centuries. Protected by the mountain’s isolated, wooded and almost inaccessible cliffs, the escaped slaves formed small settlements in the caves and on the summit of Le Morne. The oral traditions associated with the maroons, have made Le Morne a symbol of the slaves’ fight for freedom, their suffering, and their sacrifice, all of which have relevance to the countries from which the slaves came.

Accommodation

Situated half way between the Mountain and the sea, the house can easily be used independantly by 2 couples (maximum of 4 pax). 2 seperate bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and common spaces : Kitchen, Living room, Veranda One room is equipped with A/C and the other room is equipped with a sealing fan. Have a nice rest in your room on the double size bed after a long day on the water or after exploring the island. Ideal for for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. The house is fully equipped and furnished so come and hang loose.
