This pristine part of the Cyclades is a huge chunk of kitesurfing paradise. You can kite surf directly in front of the villa in between the residence island and the light house island in flat and small chop water condition. Due to the ventury effect created by the islands wind is very thick and experienced riders can boost some really huge jumps. For the more freestyle guys the nearby Liberousa (egg) island offer some perfect flat water conditions. Highlight of the area is the down winder from egg island after freestyle session to the main villa passing just in front of Meganisi and the spectacular villa of Picasso Family. Last but not least is the main spot where our Royal Sands Marmari Surf Club is located.

The little village of Marmari in the south of Evia is a tourism destination recently discovered by European surfers who mainly want to relax in a quiet multi activity destination, enjoy fresh and delicious greek plates and pure nature. The produce in this part of Greece is more than incredible. There are a lot of things one can get from the island farm. Island-grown vegetables, fruit and eggs will make every meal incredibly delicious and healthy.Last but not least the fresh fish from the fishermen. The night life in the area of Marmari is not one of the favourites but there are a few bars that play international music and serve fresh made cocktails. In Karystos, which is 15 minutes drive from Marmari, there are many bars and plenty of people both tourists and locals that party till the sunrise. Our paradise island is located in short boat trip distance from Marmari and Royal Sands Marmari Surf Club.
Since our private island is quite remote, you’ll share this vast amount of space with only the other guests of the kite camp - just 5 to 8 kites in the air at the most. The conditions are flat water lagoon, another small lagoon with small chop, and the big sandy spot of Royal Sands Marmari Surf Club, only 3-4 minutes away on the speed boats. Our neighboring islands have some excellent flat water spots which we can explore with our boats, ending the session with a down winder back to our island. On request and weather permitted daily trips to Kea,Andros and Cycladic islands are available.
If you’re a beginner, you have the added benefit of being in an uncrowded and safe learning-environment. We teach in deep water with boat support, saving you the time-consuming walk upwind after every session.
In our Mediterranean weather, a lycra shirt is all you need to kite, keeping the sun off your skin. Seven to ten meter kites are most used, though we have bigger and smaller kites available for very strong/light days.
When we say private we mean it private.Since you book the property you are the only guest on the island. The beach house was built in the 1920s and was renovated in 1992 and 2010. The owners followed the original style of the house, which is a Neo-classical, turn-of-the-century structure, and restored it to make it modern while maintaining the finesse of that time. The house is very comfortable with beautiful large rooms and tall ceilings. Each bedroom has its own marble bathroom with very nice fixtures. There are terraces all around it that offer beautiful views of the landscape encompassing cypress and olive trees, as well as the sea and the Picasso villa on Meganisi –the biggest of the 10 islands) across. Part of the complex is the 400 years old house of Pasha and his wives during the Ottoman Empire period. Within just ten steps from the house you are in the water. Behind the house is the barbecue area with a big wooden table for 20 people. The wood oven and several old structures like the old tavern for the passing by sailors, a bakery and a place for making cheese and wine travel will take you 150 years back in time.
