Summary
The trade winds bring amazing kite and windsurfing conditions to the north coast of the Dominican Republic almost the entire year. The most consistent months are between January-March and June-August. The conditions are mainly choppy at kite beach with small waves which make great kickers. The waves get larger over the winter months, amazing for wave riding. About 7km south-east of Kite Beach is La Boca which is a river mouth offering butter flat water. The wind varies between 15-25 knots so a 2-3 kite quiver is recommended. The air and water temperature remain warm throughout the year. A bikini/boardshorts are suitable in the summer months and a shorty wetsuit/lycra is recommended in the winter.
