The Destination

With a population of around 82 million people, and a coastline stretching for 2000 km north to south, Vietnam is a country bursting with life, fantastic food, a vibrant and diverse culture, tropical climate and many, many beaches. While northern Vietnam is considered the epicenter of Vietnamese culture, southern Vietnam has been the home of a greater variety of competing kingdoms and cultures in its recent history. The mysterious Cham kingdom, which stretched throughout much of what is today central Vietnam, found its limit around Mui Ne, and there are still architectural relics from their presence over 800 years ago. Vietnamese cuisine is renowned around the world for its freshness and use of many healthy herbs and vegetables. The Vietnamese are also notorious for eating anything that walks, so do not expect your pallet to become bored. Above all, it’s Vietnam’s physical beauty and climate that make it truly special. With a coastline stretching 3,260 km, it is very much a country shaped by the sea. With the warm winds of the South China Sea lapping its coastal waters, it is pretty much perfect for kitesurfing.

Oliver is your host for this experience and will provide you with all the information needed.

Extreme sport aficionado, kitesurf specialist and adventure architect Oliver Breitschaft began life in Erlanger, Germany in 1979. Shortly after learning how to walk, he began to ski, and by the age of 16 he had picked up a snowboard. In 2002, he worked as a ski and snowboard instructor in the Austrian Alps. However, it wasn’t until he picked up kitesurfing on in Tarifa that he found his true calling. Empowered by the freedom of the air and the spirit of the water, in 2006 he took his newfound passion to Vietnam, which has served as his base kitesurfing kingdom ever since. His passion however, is the surf. His 12 years of experience as a kitesurf instructor make him one of the foremost Kitesurf specialists in the country and all of South East Asia. Using his passion and knowledge for the waves, he has tailored a kitesurf adventure program that takes in all the hidden gems of Vietnam’s coast and combines it with insider local knowledge and a whole lot of action. This is program is his baby, and he takes its continued success very seriously, in a fun kind of way.
