Only 1 out of 10 islands are inhabited at all! This leaves us a abundance of wind swept beaches to explore. The flatwater kiting and sailing around the Islands is so spectacular that the Cabrinha Off Shore Odysseys listed it as one of the top ten destinations on the planet to kitesurf. The wind season at the San Blas Islands starts in the middle of December until middle of May. Blowing consistently 12 - 25 knots more or less every day. So the ideal kite sizes for this trip are 9, 12, 14 and 17m.
About us: It all began back in 2014 with our first kitesurfing cruises in The San Blas Islands, Panama. Since then we have been working hard to discover new locations around the world. After running several trial cruises in different locations we found a perfect mix of - sailing, adventure and kiting!
To give you the best experience possible we have a kitesurfing guesthouse in Panama, Punta Chame. Not only because it’s an awesome kitesurfing location but we also need a place to base ourselves during the winter. It is also perfect for people on the San Blas trip who want to extend their stay in Panama, or people just traveling through and looking for a place to kite!
What makes us special:
- We want to help everyone to improve there kitesurfing ability as much as they want to over the week.
The sample itinerary
- DAY 1 /
5 am: Start loading up the 4x4’s and drive 3-4 hours down to the San Blas, first leaving Panama City and then an adventurous drive down to a small port where we will load up the speed boats and head to Coconut Island.
After boarding the boat, settling in and having lunch on board, it’s time to get to the island for your first kite session until sunset!
- DAY 2 - 7 /
We will spend most of the week at the first kite spot seen above, it’s huge with a large flat shallow water area and there is plenty to explore.
We will jump onto wild card for two separate day trips over the week and maybe doing a cross or downwinder on the way to other kite spots. If there is a light wind day over the trip we will take a short sail to visit a local island, then catch a local boat up a river and trek into the jungle to see a waterfall.
- DAY 8 / After an early morning session and late breakfast, it’s time to pack up jump back into the speed boat and start to make your way back to the port and onwards to Panama city in the 4x4 transfer.
