Walking distance to spot

This pristine part of the Philippines is a huge chunk of kitesurfing paradise. You can kite directly from our island – pretty much right from your doorstep. The backdrop is stunning everywhere. The area has some perfect flat water spots for freestyle and some waist-deep sandy bottom ones for beginners. There are some small waves; no big ones. Rider preference and riding level permitting, we will take you to different spots as well. Since our private island is quite remote, you’ll share this vast amount of space with only the other guests of the kite camp - just 5 or 10 kites in the air at most. The conditions are open water chop with a small flat section behind our sand bar. Our neighbouring islands have some excellent flat water spots which we can explore with our boats, ending the session with a down winder back to our island. If you’re a beginner, you have the added benefit of being in an uncrowded and safe learning-environment. We teach in deep water with boat support, saving you the time-consuming walk upwind after every session. In our tropical weather, a lycra shirt is all you need to kite, keeping the sun off your skin. 9 and 12m kites are most used, though we have bigger and smaller kites available for very strong/light days. Best to bring sea shoes, as there are corals in the water.

The Destination

The tranquil Calamianes Islands are located at the northern tip of Palawan, in the very West of the Philippines. The area is world-renowned for WW2 shipwrecks, unique dive spots, majestic limestone cliffs and a diverse, preserved ecosystem. One of those remote islands is our 2-hectare private island, where we built our kitesurf resort three years ago. The island itself is uninhabited and absolutely stunning. What you won't find here are other noisy bars, discos, karaoke pubs or herds of tourists. What you will find here is peace and quiet; a real escape. Untouched nature, reliable wind and crystal clear waters. Pure white sand where turtles often come to lay their eggs, and a well-protected coral reef. Sustainable and solar-powered. Secluded yet accessible. Rustic but relaxing. Besides you and just a few other guests, our staff are the only other people on the island. You are catered to during your stay, eat fresh, hand-cooked cuisine three times a day, plus have access to a fully-stocked bar. Enjoy the relaxed vibe, the opportunity to meet like-minded international travelers and kitesurfers who come from all over the world, and unlimited space for kiting with a magnificent natural backdrop. Some say it’s every kiter’s dream…

The Experience

A tropical island with nothing but a few cottages and like minded kiters! This kite holiday combines a pristine, exotic island with the luxury and comfort of a private resort.

After exploring nearly the whole country with our kiteboards years ago, and also running kite safari trips in the area, we knew this part of the Philippines was the perfect destination for a kitesurf holiday. We built the resort because we envisioned one secluded spot in paradise, with complete infrastructure for kiters.

Today, the private island kite camp is a reality: Independent riders benefit from the uncrowded spot, open space and convenient set-up. Beginners enjoy professional kitesurf lessons with boat support in an exclusive setting. Non-kiting friends and family, have plenty of fun options and “toys” on the island, and our accommodations are just footsteps from the beach.

It's the one destination where you have everything in a single place!

Getting There

There are a few options to get to our island: You can fly from Manila to Coron-Busuanga (USU), where we will pick you up and drop you off again. Or fly with one of AirJuan's water planes directly to our island. We can also help if you're coming from El Nido, and pick you up from the ferry mid-way, as it passes our island.

(Transport in the Philippines can be a bit confusing, feel free to contact us so we can help you arrange and organize your trip.)

Other Activities

Palawan is one of the most spectacular spots for watersports and luxury holidays in the Philippines.

So, on the occasional days without wind - and for your non-kiting companions - there are lots of things to do: We have SUP's and Kayaks to check out the neighboring islands and mangrove areas with snorkel equipment to explore our house reef. We can go wakeboarding, do kite-lift if you're daring enough.

But first and foremost, there is our famous Coron Island trip, where you will see this spectacular, mystical place and it's limestone cliffs, without having it to share with hundreds of others. Also, we can take you diving with one of our partner dive centers, as it would be a shame to miss out on the famous shipwrecks from WW2 that the area is known for.

Food & Drink

Food is the highlight of any holiday, and on the private island, this is no exception. For breakfast, there’s a buffet spread of fresh island-baked bread, tropical fruits, different jams and butter. Additionally, you can choose between American and Filipino breakfast, pancakes, yoghurt and more. Perfect to kick-start an active day!

The fully-stocked kitchen is run by our island chef Raymond, serving traditional Filipino and international cuisine for lunch and dinner. Our dining area is open all day for guests to enjoy and if you have any dietary requirements, we can cater to them.

We emphasise offering fresh, healthy food from the region. There is lots of seafood like fresh prawns, oysters, squid and of course lots of fish, usually caught on the same day and delivered by the local fishermen. Also, salad for every meal.

We source ingredients straight from local farms and the fishermen’s catch of the day. You’ll eat island-baked bread, fresh exotic fruits, and refreshing healthy meals every day.

Tip: Romantic candle-lit dinners on the beach can be arranged for couples in advance.

The Team

Now on our 5th year of running the private-island kite camp, we have a core team of international and local staff. We hope you enjoy your stay at our private resort!

It has been an amazing experience but there was not hot water for the shower; there is no someone watching you all the time when you are having your session; on no wind days they don't organize sightseeing tour unless ur really push him to do it; should be written to bring seashoes because in the water it's full of corals. A part from that it's a paradise island and I really loved it! I have been really stoked!
