The best and most typical wind direction for the kite spots around Lisbon is Northwest. The most common sized kites you’ll use in our locations will be between 9m and 12m. At our school we offer a full equipment range with kite sizes between 5-16m in order to take advantage of all conditions. We have the ability to move to other spots in the areas (Tagus and Sado river) when the wind comes from the South or East, so there's always an option. The river and lagoon spots are totally flat with nice shallow areas. In the summer months (June, July and August) some kiting spots can get crowded so our first recommended option is usually the ocean location of Costa da Caparica where you can find small waves. Our school there has access to the help of a jet ski if needed to keep you safe. The water temperature remains around a constant 17º/18º so most riders use a 4/3mm wetsuit. The hardcore riders might use only a shorty wetsuit in summer when the air temperature increases to around 30º. Having such a long coastline makes it a great location for waves so you will find half of the kiters use twin tip boards and the other half are on directional surfboards. Try both and take your pick!
Portugal is one of the most beautiful and safe countries in the world. It’s a place of old history, friendly people, amazing local food and a playground for all outdoor activities. You will not find a better location than the Lisbon region for an overall experience. The southern facing coastline is protected from the wind and has the highest cliffs in continental Europe. It’s perfect for kayaking, SUP or even hiking on a windless morning. In the afternoon just move to the coastline facing northwest in search of the best wind conditions to kite. Disconnect from all the stress and have a fun week full of activities. A boring day is something we don't know around here.
Kitesurfing requires a high level of focus, alertness and synchronicity in your movements. In our eyes, yoga is a perfect complementary exercise through which you can develop flexibility, strength and balance. If you practice yoga your body and mind will definitely be well-prepared for kitesurfing.
Casa do Páteo will give you the opportunity to immerse in the practice of yoga in a sacred place surrounded by pines. Our Meira Pro Center will open up the beauty of kitesurfing in the wild beaches of Meco. Join us for a week filled with moments of joy and peace, and surrender to life in harmony with nature in a happy and familiar environment.
Our base is located only 30km away from Lisbon city centre so if you want to experience the capital vibe we can help you get there. Don't forget we are also near an ancient Sesimbra village and Setubal is exploding with history.

Our country house, with 10.000m2, is surrounded by pine forest and a garden that sings a hymn to mother nature. It was a project created for everyone that takes pleasure in nature and the elements.
